As of 15th July 2009 the Students’ Union, University of the Arts London (SUARTS) has been governed by a brand new constitution. >Download the new SUARTS Constitution here (pdf 380KB) The change follows a review of the Union’s representational structures and how it is governed that has lasted the best part of two years. One of the main drivers for our Governance Review was the Charities Act of 2004, which means that as of October 2009 Students’ Unions across the country will be required to register with the Charities Commission. This means a change in our legal status and an additional level of reporting and monitoring, on top of our activities being monitored by the Universities Court of Governors. Our new constitution means that we are ready for the change and will be able to take full advantage of the new legal status. |

Further rules & regulations of the Union known as the Bye-Laws and Guidance Documents which are made in addition to the Constitutiuon for clarification will be available to download here shortly. |
