The Sustainable Design Society will:
Provide a platform for UAL students interested in Sustainability issues to debate, discuss and learn about the exciting and innovative areas of ‘Eco Design’ through lectures, events and research programmes.
Provide a supporting student-led resource for any student wanting to find out more about Sustainable Design and to run events, link with and support UAL campaigns focused on sustainability. This society will also provide the potential for cross course and cross college collaborative projects based around environmental principles and practice and will provide a
link between all students of UAL with the resources and events run by the Centre for Sustainable Fashion (CSF) at LCF.
Work to raise awareness of the damaging and negative environmental impacts of current creative industries (e.g. the fashion and textile industry and supply chain) and inspire members and fellow students to take these considerations into account within their own work in whatever course this may be within UAL.
